Turkey handed over 450 pieces to Somalia Of their local rifle "MPT-76"
Turkey has handed over to the Somali government 450 local weapons of the type "MPT-76" used by the Turkish armed forces in their counter-terrorism operations.
This comes within the framework of the training and defense agreement between Turkey and Somalia, where the Turkish army is training elements of the Somali army at the military base established by Ankara in the capital Mogadishu.
In addition to Somalia, the Turkish manufacturer of mechanical and chemical industries has delivered two thousand and 500 pieces of such weapons to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The Turkish manufacturer of weapons "MPT-76" that it has so far handed over more than 3 thousand and 200 of this weapon, including 500 pieces to the guards of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.
The rifle is 920 mm long and weighs 4.1 kilograms. It hits the target 600 meters accurately and also has a launch speed of 650 bullets per minute.
